I have witnessed many times the positive change that can be fostered by psychotherapy. Hearing a client tell me that they feel better, get more satisfaction from their relationships, or that they are closer to being the person they want to be as a result of our sessions together, is why I am passionate about my work.
My Education and Training
I successfully completed a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto and a Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. I have a certificate in Trauma Assessment and Treatment, and post-graduate training in Mindfulness.
Over the last three years I have completed extensive post-graduate training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) with both co-founders of this powerful and effective approach, including an externship in Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy with Dr. Sue Johnson and Core Skills Training through the International Centre for Excellence in EFT.
I have also taken all three levels of the EFT institute at York University with Dr. Les Greenberg.
I will always continue to engage in learning and professional development in my field.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (Licence #001122).
I have also been a professional member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association since 2002 and of the Ontario Association Of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists since 2006.
My Professional Experience
Over the last fifteen years I have worked counselling children, youth and families with the Vancouver School Board and in Toronto at Youthlink, an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre. I became a parent to twins in 2010 and since then I have dedicated myself to supporting individuals and couples in my private Psychotherapy practice in downtown Toronto.
